Kimse Yok mu“Kimse Yok Mu?”, which is Turkey’s one of the largest humanitarian aid organizations operating both locally and globally, represents practical implementation of Gulen Movement’s main ideas – to provide altruistic service to those who are in need regardless of their race, religion, culture and social status. Originally established as a TV program after Turkey’s 1999 earthquake, “Kimse yok mu?” became so popular and received so much attention that it became an NGO in March 2004. Since 2004, the organization has been rushing to help the victims of the world’s scariest natural disasters such as Indonesian tsunami in 2004, earthquake in Haiti and many others. The organization, which is supported solely by donations of volunteers, has only one, but extremely important target – to build more prosperous world for everyone to live in. At the present time, “Kimse Yok mu?” operates under 7 different categories: aid for disasters, aid for health, aid for education, aid in holidays, individual aid campaigns, aid for Africa and Sister family aids. An insider view to success of Fethullah Gulen inspired schools: ‘The teacher factor’

Gulen SchoolsFethullah Gulen inspired schools that have been opened in various corners of the world have proven themselves as very efficient and successful educational establishments. Students of the schools are often becoming the first in different domestic and international intellectual competitions and Olympiads; and many graduates of Fethullah Gulen inspired schools continue their studies in the most prestigious universities of the world. What are the reasons and factors explaining why Gulen inspired schools have become such efficient and successful educational establishments? As a graduate of one of the Gulen inspired schools in Central Asia, I can say that one of the most important reasons of such success is hidden in the so-called ‘teacher factor’ – more precisely, in the unique approach of teachers to educating and interacting with students. In the following paragraphs I will provide facts and concrete examples from my own experiences in order to explain why the teachers can be regarded as keys to success of Fethullah Gulen inspired schools. Although I will be mainly referring to the school which I attended, my observations are applicable to all Fethullah Gulen inspired schools since they all follow common systematic approach to education. Common Sense vs. Provocations

“What our nation should do is avoid being antagonized by those who use the saddening and ugly occurrences for their dirty purposes. Our nation should not support thoughts and movements that will cause us to lose our gains in the fields of human rights and democracy” said M. Fethullah Gulen in his statement with regard to the recent increase in terrorist attacks in Turkey.

With this message he, once again, stressed the urgent need for common sense against conspicuous provocations causing the death of 17 people only in last five days by the terrorist attacks of PKK. As he timely emphasized, escalated tension and uncontrollable indignation are the last two things Turkey would need. Cooler heads shoul prevail and this is what Turkey really needs especially in this tense political climate. Read rest of the story
