Diversity Management in Slovenia

In one of its Ambassadors Speaking programs the Rumi Forum hosted Slovenian Ambassador Roman Kirn. In his presentation, which is titled Slovenia and Diversity Management: Lessons for the Future Amb. Rumi Forum bestows peace and dialogue awards

Fethullah Gulen has inspired numerous organizations and NGOs world wide. The Rumi forum, one such organization, recently organizaed its Annual 2011 rumi Peace and dialogue Awards. Rumi Forum commemorates 9/11

The Rumi Forum with numerous partners across various States organized 9/11 commemoration events. Rumi Forum‘s Hon President Fethullah Gulen was one of the first to denounce the attacks with a published piece in the Washington Post. Gulen has always denounced violence and terror and always been on the side of peace building and understanding. Winners of Gulen Institute’s contest on essay are announced and honored.

turkish-organizationsGulen Institute organized high school contest Dialogue of Civilizations Youth Platform 2011 in which students from all over the world competed in writing of essay that responded to the topic of using military and diplomatic means as a solution to today’s political issues. In writing their essays, students had to provide advices for political leaders on how to prevent conflicts and enhance the democratization process in their countries. Winners of the contest have recently been announced and honored by members of the US Congress. Singaporean student Liu Mi Ru has won the contest and received the highest award of $4000. Additionally, all students participating in the contest received free Washington DC tour in which they had a chance to meet with members of Congress, visit think tanks and participate in round table discussions. By organizing this contest, Gulen Institute again has proven itself as an organization that promotes global use of diplomacy and democracy. Read rest of the story

Rumi Forum and Gulen Movement on NPR’s Hearsay

NPR HearsayM. Fethullah Gulen has inspired a variety of organizations around the world but there are only a few of them to have the chance to have him as honorary president. The Rumi Forum of Washington DC is among those entities and this frequently attracts media attention. Recently, executives of the Forum was invited by the National Public Radio’s (NPR) Hearsay to discuss the activities of the Rumi Forum’s Hampton Roads Chapter and the contributions of the Gulen Movement to wider global community. Bishop Chane: Gulen one of the greatest scholars

During his talk Chane referred to M. Fethullah Gulen as a significant scholar and ‘magnificent man’ due to his tireless efforts in motivating people globally to assist selflessly others. Rumi Forum: A D.C. Based NGO Promoting Peace, Tolerance and Dialogue

Rumi ForumRumi Forum, located in Washington DC, is a well-known nonprofit organization with the mission of fostering intercultural dialogue, promote tolerance and understanding, and strengthening democracy and global peace.  Rumi Forum’s honorary president is Fethullah Gulen. His ideas and teachings of promoting  peace and dialogue have a significant role for the Rumi Forum’s activities. Rumi Forum is a well-known nonprofit organization with the mission to foster interfaith and intercultural dialogue, stimulate thinking and exchange of opinions on supporting and fostering democracy and peace all over the world. Ramadan iftar tent drew crowds in Virginia

Virginia IftarFor the second year in a row, American Turkish Friendship Association (ATFA) and the Fairfax Chapter of the Rumi Forum have established a Ramadan Iftar Tent in Virginia. More than two thousand Virginians including House Delegates and Senators enjoyed the fast-breaking dinners between August 26th and August 28th, 2010.

During the three day event, not only iftar dinners have been served but also post-iftar entertainments amused the guests. It was the first time in Northern Virginia that such a big crowd gathered to celebrate Ramadan together. Read rest of the story
