Being the most productive civil society movement of the country, Gulen Movement became lightning-rod for Turkey’s all kind of conspiracy theories. A journalistic meeting attended by Zaman’s Huseyin Gulerce and lawyers of Abdullah Ocalan, the leader of the terrorist PKK, for instance, ignited a serious debate. Although it’s very well known by any single person on the street that the two groups undoubtedly live on two different planets, the conspiracy theorists made the extra mile to manipulate the news and to have Turkey’s average Joe believe there may be an agreement between the two. At this point, it would be beneficial that almost all supporters of Gulen-inspired organizations in Turkey’s Southeast have been threatened and indeed attacked by the terrorist PKK for years. Even an esteemed mosque imam of a small town in the region, claimed to be a supporter of the movement, was killed by the members of the terrorist organization last year. Read rest of the story
