Bishop Chane: Gulen one of the greatest scholars
As part of Rumi Forum‘s mission to bring people and ideas together around issues of importance concerning society and the wider global community, Bishop Chane spoke recently on the importance of interfaith and intercultural dialogue at the forum’s DC office. During his talk Chane referred to M. Fethullah Gulen as a significant scholar and ‘magnificent man’ due to his tireless efforts in motivating people globally to assist selflessly others. Academic cooperation between Gulen movement and Catholic world is at rise: recently the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) has established a chair named after famous Turkish spiritual leader M. Fethullah Gulen. The Fethullah Gulen Chair will be responsible for conducting academic research and organizing conferences for 5 years. The University hopes that the Chair, whose work is to be inspired by Gulen messages of building peace and dialogue, will contribute to the bridge-building process between Muslim people and Europeans.
