The Journalists and Writers Foundation about Gulen Movement

The Journalists and Writers Foundation (GYV) is a Turkish organization whose honorary president is Fethullah Gulen and which works to promote understanding and dialogue among people of various cultures. The members of the organization are famous Turkish writers, authors, journalists and public officials of different backgrounds and affiliations. Recently the organization has issued a message about the position of Hizmet (Gulen) Movement explaining that the movement is strictly civilian one and does not have any political agenda. Kimse Yok Mu helps Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon

Kimse Yok Mu, an international relief organization inspired by ideas and teachings of Fethullah Gulen, has launched new campaign to help Syrian refugees. The organization focuses on refugees who fled from their native land to Jordan and Lebanon. The relief team was sent to these countries to determine the needs of refugees and to distribute food packages. Members of the team informed that Syrians urgently need food, water, baby diapers and clothes, blankets and hygienic supplies. His ideas and beliefs constituted the basis for the charges against him

James C. Harrington is founder and director of the Texas Civil Rights Project. He has taught at the University of Texas, School of Law for twenty-five years. Harrington wrote a book titled “Wrestling with Free Speech, Religious Freedom, and Democracy in Turkey: The Political Trials and Times of Fethullah Gülen” on the trial of renowned Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen in Turkey, which ended with his acquittal being upheld by the Supreme Court of Appeals in 2008. In his book, based on research and three weeks of personal interviews in Turkey, Harrington analyzes the course of the trial, which he describes as a political trial, and how this trial helped to greatly expand civil liberties and democracy in Turkey. Gülen supports broader enforcement of press freedoms

Turkish Muslim intellectual Fethullah Gülen expressed on his Twitter account on Monday that he upheld broader rights in particular in the arenas of freedom of expression and freedom of the press for journalists, including those who “unjustly” accuse him of conspiring against them. “I am also in favor of their free usage of their freedoms of expression, thought and the press even if they have completely opposite views and they, unjustly, blame me for what happened to them,” Gülen said. Gülen expresses condolences for Turkish soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Turkish Muslim intellectual Fethullah Gulen has expressed his condolences to the families of 12 soldiers killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan last week, saying they were there to help restore peace in a war-torn country. Gülen said Turkish soldiers, who have fought tooth and nail against terrorism for years, have been serving to restore peace in the friendly and brotherly country of Afghanistan, which has always sided with Turkey in difficult times. Fethullah Gulen on the The Truth

In the leading article of The Fountain magazine (issue 83 published in 2011) Fethullah Gulen writes about the concept of the Truth. Author writes that the Truth is one of the names of the Divine pronounced in Arabic as Al-Haqq. Gulen says that it is important to understand the concept of the Truth to understand the universe since the Truth is an exclusive “source of all rights, whether they are real, proportional, relative, or nominal; it is the true essence and the very foundation of the reality that spans all universes”. Turkish Doctors Extend a Helping Hand to Somalia

Doctors from Balikesir province, which is in Western part of Turkey, are planning to go to Somali and provide medical service to Somali people. The group of doctors consisting of one surgeon and four family doctors, is planning to spend 17 day in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
