A prominent scholar and intellectual Fethullah Gulen wrote about the correlation between virtue and happiness in his article published in a bimonthly The Fountain Magazine. Author said that virtue is a necessary factor for anyone who wants to reach happiness. He elaborated further on the concept of virtue and described what it meant to be a virtuous person by drawing a portrait of such individual. He wrote, “A truly virtuous person has a kind of connection with all things. … They [virtuous people] keep living moments of serenity and happiness, viewing different and ever-renewed sights with wisdom”.

We as the middle age parents of school age children did not have today’s technology options when we were in school. Now we realize technology has become an integral part of our child’s education, and it is difficult to incorporate Technology (desktop, laptop iPad, netbook, iPhone etc.) into the learning process. Technology is important in today’s world and taking a comprehensive approach to technology education will ensure that children thrive in the modern education system and in the jobs of the future.
In this excerpt from his book, Towards the Lost Paradise, Mr. Gulen emphasizes the need to be “cooked” or for Chilah: in our efforts to reaching righteousness, spiritually and in this world. Mr. Gulen writes, “Chilah – great suffering, trouble and hardships experienced by the traveler on the road of virtue, so as to become “cooked” and mature, and to raise his people to spiritual and material perfection.”
I would like to share with you as article that was published in a bi-monthly periodical The Fountain inspired by ideas of Fethullah Gulen in 1993. L. Sayyed, author of the article, talks about academic study published by Allan Wilson and Rebecca Cann. In this research different DNA samples taken from people from all around the world were studied. In the result of the study it was found that people have come from the same lineage, from the same ancestors and single parents. Since we all came from the same parents, racism has no meaning. Author also elaborates on the concept of racism and xenophobia from Islamic point of view.
In this poem, Mr. Gulen eloquently describes the love and devotion he has for the Prophet Mohammad.
